ByteByson: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026.
ByteByson contains no advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics. It does not automatically send us your files, credentials, or usage history.
Your data. ByteByson stores connection settings, download queues, and partial downloads on your Mac. It uses this information to connect to servers and resume downloads. Passwords, private keys, and passphrases are stored in Apple Keychain.
Saved connections and credentials can sync through your iCloud account. Apple handles these services under its Privacy Policy.
Downloads. Files travel directly from the servers you choose to your Mac. Those servers receive your IP address, authentication information, and file requests.
Diagnostic logs. Optional logs stay on your Mac. They can include server addresses and file paths, but exclude passwords, passphrases, private keys, and file contents. The app removes logs older than 30 days. You control whether to export and share them.
Your choices. You can delete saved connections and their credentials in the app. You can disable logging and delete saved logs in Settings. You can delete downloaded files through Finder.
Support. If you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond. You can request deletion of information you send us.
