CoreView Release Notes v2026.11.01
CoreView is a security camera viewer for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. It brings ONVIF, RTSP, UniFi Protect, and Rhombus cameras together in one app, with video sent directly from your cameras.
CoreView v2026.11.01 improves live video, speeds up camera access, and adds more control over how you watch and listen. These release notes cover the notable changes since v2026.10.15.

Live camera video with less delay
CoreView keeps live video closer to what your camera sees now.
- Less delay during long viewing sessions. If playback falls behind, CoreView skips old video to return to the current picture.
- Faster starts and reconnections. ONVIF and UniFi Protect cameras reuse saved connection details. Compatible ONVIF cameras also receive a request for a fresh picture.
- Faster return to cameras in a group. Cameras stay ready briefly when you scroll them out of view, so scrolling back needs less waiting.
- More responsive sound. Audio starts sooner and reduces extra delay after the network becomes stable again.
- Better recovery from missing video data. CoreView skips damaged video until it can show a complete picture again.
Pinch to zoom in more places
Pinch to enlarge live video up to 8× in a camera view, a group, or the Mac menu bar panel. You can now zoom without opening full screen.
Drag the enlarged picture to inspect another area. Each camera in a group has its own zoom level. Zoom resets when the view changes size.
Open your preferred camera automatically
The new Auto Start setting opens a selected camera or group when CoreView starts. It also opens your selection when you return after at least five minutes in the background.
Choose your camera or group under Settings › Playback › Auto Start. Each device keeps its own selection, so your Apple TV can open a different view from your iPhone.
Background audio on iPhone and iPad
Listen to your cameras while the screen is locked or you use another app.
Turn on Background Audio under Settings › Playback. Then turn on sound for each camera you want to hear. The setting is off by default.
- Listen to one camera or several cameras in a group, including cameras outside the visible area.
- Keep each camera's volume setting while video pauses in the background.
- Resume video when you return to CoreView.
This update also improves sound recovery after interruptions and fixes a problem that could freeze the app after unlocking an iPad.
Faster UniFi Protect camera access
CoreView handles large UniFi Protect systems more efficiently, with less waiting when you browse or open cameras.
- Camera lists appear sooner. CoreView shows the saved list while it checks for changes in the background. Each Protect system loads independently.
- Playback gets priority. Opening a camera no longer waits for the entire camera list to refresh.
- More reliable setup. CoreView avoids sending too many requests to Protect at once, which previously caused delays on larger systems.
- Clearer connection errors. Messages explain problems such as an incorrect console address or missing Local Network permission.
- Add a camera more than once. Create separate entries for the same Protect camera, such as one for each video quality.
See which devices have the same camera setup
Settings › LAN Sync now shows whether nearby devices have the same configuration or a different one.
Each configuration also has a three-word label for easy comparison. CoreView shows which device sent your configuration, when you received it, and whether you changed it afterward.
Before you accept another configuration, CoreView warns if it would replace changes made since your last sync.
You can also name each device under Settings › Account. Names such as “Living Room Apple TV” appear in your account and LAN Sync. Set the name on the device itself, even when signed out.
More Mac support and easier window controls
CoreView now supports macOS 15 and later, bringing the security camera viewer to more Macs.
- Open a camera from the menu bar. Double-click its video to open a separate window.
- Return to your library. The menu bar's Open CoreView command always opens the main window. Window › Show Main Window, or ⌘0, also brings it back after you close or minimize it.
- Reach Settings after closing the main window. CoreView reopens the window when you request Settings.
- Simpler playback controls. Camera windows use the Mac's standard close and full-screen controls, without duplicate buttons over the video.
- Keep watching while you work. Playback and recording continue when you switch to another app or window.
Clearer camera viewing on Apple TV
Groups of cameras now leave more of the picture visible when you stop using the remote.
- The selected camera's outline and name fade after five seconds without remote input. They return when you use the remote again.
- Pan, tilt, and zoom controls work correctly with the remote when a camera has no saved Home position.
- Camera movement speed labels fit more clearly on screen.
- Camera playback stops when you leave CoreView.
Camera setup and other fixes
- Easier stream selection. Editing an ONVIF or UniFi Protect camera automatically loads its available streams. Protect cameras also have a Reload Streams button.
- More connection options. The UDP setting now works for ONVIF and RTSP cameras. If the camera or network cannot use UDP, CoreView automatically tries TCP, the standard connection option.
- Clearer folder selection. Folder cards show an outline when you move the pointer over them.
- A clearer Our Apps page. App cards show icons, supported devices, descriptions, and readable buttons.
- ONVIF stability fix. Fixed a crash that could occur when CoreView finished an ONVIF connection.
