Lappr Release Notes v2026.10.15
Lappr is available in the App Store! Learn more at lappr.app.
Set up. Start. Swim.
- Place your iPhone upright on a small mount or tripod at the end of your lane. Keep it on the dry pool deck, with the screen and front camera facing down the lane.
- Set your pool length in yards or meters.
- Tap Ready. A five-second countdown gives you time to get set, and then the swim timer starts.
- Lappr learns your lane from your first push-off. Then it counts a lap each time you swim out and return to the phone. One lap is a round trip of two pool lengths.
- Large numbers show your time, laps and distance, so you can read them from the water. The screen stays on for the whole swim.
Three ways to swim
- Just Swim: an open swim. Your time, laps and distance count up.
- Distance: choose a goal, such as 1,000 or 1,650 yards or 1,500 meters, or enter your own distance or lap count. The screen counts down the laps and distance left.
- Time: choose 10 to 60 minutes, or enter your own time. The timer counts down.
Lappr remembers your mode and your last goal of each kind. For a regular swim, tap the mode and then tap Ready.
Pause, resume and recover
- Tap Pause to rest and Resume when you're ready. Your completed laps are kept, and Lappr waits for your next push-off before it counts again.
- Stop asks you to confirm, so a wet tap won't end your swim.
- If Lappr stops in the middle of a swim, it offers to resume that workout the next time you open it.
See every split
- Each workout shows your distance, swim time, laps and pace.
- A lap-time chart shows your fastest, average and slowest laps.
- The Splits screen has full lap-time and pace charts, marks your pauses and compares each lap with your average.
- With Review and Correct Laps, you can remove a lap that shouldn't have counted or add one that was missed. Lappr then recalculates your distance and splits.
Your workout history
- The Workouts tab shows a card for each swim, grouped by month.
- A summary at the top shows this month's distance, number of swims, time in the water and laps.
- Each card shows your progress toward a goal. Badges mark goals reached and swims saved to Apple Health or Strava.
Save and share
- Apple Health: send a swim with its distance, laps and pauses. You decide what to send, and nothing goes to Health automatically.
- Strava: connect your account and upload a swim with its laps. The activity description includes your distance, time and pool length.
- Export: save a FIT file for other training apps, or export the full workout details.
Your Lappr account
- Sign in with Apple to back up your workout history and restore it on a new device.
- You don't need a connection at the pool. Swimming, your history and swim recovery all work offline. Lappr syncs when you're back online.
- You can delete a workout, or your whole Lappr account, at any time.
Privacy
Lappr counts your laps on your device. It doesn't save video of your swim unless you turn on diagnostic video. Lappr uploads video only if you choose to send it to support. See our privacy policy.
Help when you need it
If a count looks wrong, open the workout and tap Send to Lappr Support. Lappr sends that swim's details and logs, and the video if you include it, so we can see what happened.
Three free workouts
Start with three free workouts with the fully functioning app. After that, a one-time lifetime upgrade unlocks unlimited swimming. Your upgrade belongs to your Lappr account, so you can restore it on a new device by signing in with Apple.
Lappr requires iOS 18 or later. Learn more at lappr.app.
